Albums

My first two releases, a 45 rpm single by The Hi-Tops (1982) and a full length cassette, "WhyDoYouMakeMeBlue" (1991) have disapeared from the face of the earth.

Most of these CD's are available at Independisc.com "Still Here" and "Just Plain Jane" are also available at CDBaby.com

Some of the tunes from these albums are available as free downloads on my mp3 page.

For info on my latest album, "Just Plain Jane and Other Modest Proposals" go back to the homepage to. . .  "My Latest Album" (!)

JAMES VELVET

WIDE AWAKE IN MY HEAD

(2004)

This collection's subtitle is "Remakes, Retakes, & Other Odd Fish, 1989-2003"

That sums it up. It's a nice sampler of different MockingBird line-ups and guest stars. I thought it would only be for Velvet/Mox geeks, but it made a lot of new friends.

JAMES VELVET
BONES 'N CLONES (2001)

Recorded by Jim Chapdelaine. Java & Peckman play, as well as other CT hotshots. This is a good example of how great studio sound, once available only in big cities, is now available in small basements...if you have the ears and the talent, like Chapdelaine
THE MOCKING BIRDS
STILL HERE (2002)

The last Mox album. It features the band playing in many styles, but always sounding exactly like itself.

MOX BOX

This is a collection of three, 3-song EP's. "Spring Collection" ('00) "Summer Born Great" ('00) and "Ten Thousand Nights" ('01). All were recorded "sorta-live®" by the patient Vic Steffens at Horizon Studios. This is an example of how a cool band, working in the right room with a good engineer, can make songs in real-time.

All The Love
Limousine Parade

...GONE/TOMORROW... (1999)

Another "sorta-live
®" collection recorded really well by Vic. 14 tunes of all sorts featuring Mr. Scott McDonald on drums. Most bands only dream of being this good.
