Johnny Memphis and I prowled around New Haven quite a bit in the ’80’s as a duo. Sometimes we’d get unsuspecting side-men to fill in.
This recording was made at River Street Studios in Fair Haven. Johnny is knocking out home runs with his red Gibson 335, I’m playing bass, we’re sharing lead vocals. Mike Reynolds, left handed wizard, plays drums, and Matt Salerno plays organ.
The original was written and recorded in 1966 by Roy Head, of Houston Texas.
