Another man down another woman gone
and our troubled world stumbles on
in the fight against terror and tyranny’s sting
what have you done to help freedom ring?

Did you pay back your brother for fixing the vote
some fat federal contracts took care of that note
spit on the memory of those who fought and died
in the American struggle for voting rights

Did  your family friends get their greedy hands
on our public treasure, our wilderness lands
punch holes in the earth and burn out the sky
more profits for Dick, Condi  and the guys.

Did you  do what you like and defy common sense
beat the drums of war and call it defense
roll out the new weapons, sell the old ones overseas
so we’ll never have to stop killing for peace.

Our nation is run by  rule of law
free speech, equal rights, and justice for all.
If you want to do something to help freedom ring
act more like a president and less like a king.
